3rd GBM!
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let everything know that we are having our 3rd GBM tomorrow Monday, October 18th at 8 p.m. in the Dolores Huerta - Philip Vera Cruz Room in the old student center. The room is located underneath the LGBT building, right behind soft reserves. Also, if you can't make our GBM's, stop by our leadership meetings which start at 7 pm in the same room; those are open to everyone! For tomorrows meeting, we will be discussing our upcoming events, the Mini Golf Tournament AND the reggae concert at Porter's Pub as well as giving updates, making totes and jewelry, and discussing plans for next quarter. Definitely come to the GBM if you're interested in helping us plan either of those events. We are also scheduled to table on 11/2, 11/4, and 11/5!
Also, please add us on facebook if you haven't yet just because it ensures that you receive our updates (sometimes GMAIL gets confused and doesn't send out emails). You can add it here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2248225124
You can also subscribe to our Google Group here: http://groups.google.com/group/ucsd-schools-4-schools . Please make sure to subscribe here because we will be transitioning all of our email correspondence to this because we have reached an email MAX that disables us from sending emails normally through G-Mail. THANK YOU!
Hope to see you all tomorrow night.
Cheers,

Some exciting news!
Hi Everyone,
First of all, we want to thank you everyone who came out to our mini-golf tournament this past weekend. We had a blast and raised over $600.00 for our school in Gulu, Uganda! I will post pictures from the event on the blog as soon as I get the chance.
Second of all, if you don't already know, Laren Poole is coming to UCSD for the All Campus Graduation Celebration (ACGC) on June 11th (Laren is the co-founder of Invisible Children). He is the featured speaker for the event so this is your chance to hear him speak. This event is open to ALL UCSD students. More information here: http://seniors.ucsd.edu/acgc.php
Thirdly, we are partnering with the board of ACGC to put on a screening of one of the Invisible Children documentaries this Tuesday, the 18th at the Forum Room in Price Ctr East Level 4 at 7 p.m! This is a lead in to the ACGC event so if you're interested in getting more familiar with Invisible Children and what Laren Poole does specifically for IC, this is your opportunity to do so. There will be representatives from Invisible Children answering any questions you may have about Invisible Children, the war, or anything else! We hope to see you there.
Lastly, we are having our GBM this Monday in the Thich Nhat Hanh Room @ 8 p.m. (leadership is at 7 and as usual, everyone is welcome to join us and share their thoughts/ideas/suggestions). I recommend anyone that has been active in our club these past couple quarters to attend because we have some very EXCITING news that we would like to share with you all. If you can't make the meeting and are an active member, please get in touch with me.
Oh, one more thing. The LRA Bill has fully passed congress and is on it's way to President Obama's desk! THAT'S RIGHT. WE DID IT!! Watch the Invisible Children video here: http://www.invisiblechildren.com/media/videos/detail.php?id=1654839650 and read more about it here: http://www.resolveuganda.org/node/1024
